Ed developed an interest in antiques and collectibles from an early age, growing up with parents who bought and sold at antiques fairs and who specialised in the Arts and Crafts Movement and Decorative Textiles and Embroidery.
Running an independent antiques business since 2014, Ed previously worked as a valuer at Louis Taylor’s and Potteries Auctions in Staffordshire. Ed specialises in Veteran and Vintage Bicycles, Advertising Collectibles and Vintage and Antique Toys.
Ed joined the Leighton Hall Auctions team in 2022 as a Valuer and Auction Consultant.
Responsibilities include attending valuation days, valuing and consigning items and carrying out home visits where advice can be given as to which items may be suitable for one our specialist sales.
Ed enjoys meeting different people through his work and hearing their stories whilst unearthing the history and sentimental value of interesting and unusual items.
One of the most enjoyable tasks of 2023 was consigning a large collection of vintage toys for a vendor who had kept them boxed and in immaculate condition since his childhood. The collection went on to find new homes and surpassed the vendor’s expectations on value enormously.
Outside of work Ed enjoys spending time exploring the UK with wife Hannah, young son Findlay and dog Wilson of course in their VW T4 camper van Bilbo.
