Bidding Online
Bid Live
You can bid on our auctions on our site here.
Online Auto Bids
For any of our auctions, you can leave an Auto Bid online at anytime before the lot has been sold. With an online Auto Bid, it is entirely confidential and safe - we can't see your maximum bid and the auction software will bid up to your maximum bid should someone else bid against you. Please note, we would like to make it clear that if multiple Auto Bids of the same amount are placed on the same auction lot, then the bid that is placed first shall be accepted. We advise that you place Auto Bids as soon as possible to reduce the risk of this happening.
Absentee and Telephone Bids
You can also request a telephone bid or leave absentee bids with us to execute on your behalf at no extra cost! If you request a telephone bid, one of our members of staff shall ring you whilst the lot is being sold. If you leave an absentee bid with us, we shall bid up to this amount on your behalf whilst trying to purchase the lot for the lowest price. Currently, we can only offer telephone bids to UK telephone numbers. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Bidding after the Hammer Falls
On rare occasions, live bidders may place a bid on a lot after hammer has fallen. If this situation does happen, then the auctioneer will use their discretion on whether to accept the bid or not. Leighton Hall Auctions will try to be fair to all bidders, however, if a bid is placed after the hammer has fallen, then it will not be accepted as the lot has been closed and we will honour the current bid before the hammer. Please note that everyone has the same amount of time to bid on lots in our auctions and the auctioneer will use their discretion on when to close the lot. There is a slight delay when watching the audio and video stream live online so we recommend that you try to bid without hesitation to ensure we don't miss your bid! We know sometimes you can change your mind on whether to bid or not but we suggest that you bid quickly to avoid disappointment!

Shipping & Delivery
In house shipping
At Leighton Hall Auctions, we are proud to offer an in-house shipping service for most of the items sold within our auctions.
We can post small items to include pottery, jewellery, collectables amongst much more! We aim to ensure the item(s) arrive safe and sound at the given address and we aim to achieve this by sending out lots in double-walled cardboard boxes along with the use of bubble wrap and loosefill to ensure the items cant move when in transit.
Our Chosen Delivery Companies
For the majority of our parcels, we use Parcelforce to deliver them or for smaller items such as jewellery, we use Royal Mail.
Tracking
All parcels are sent with tracking both through Parcelforce and Royal Mail. Once your item has been dispatched, we will send you a shipping confirmation email along with your tracking code(s).
Shipping Charges
Our minimum charge for the shipping service is £12.50 + VAT with the price being dependant on quantity, weight and size of the parcel. We can combine postage but only when safe and practical to do so.
If you would like to find out more about our postal service, please contact us!
Large items and Furniture
For furniture and larger items that we can't post, we welcome collections via a courier though please note these will need to be pre-arranged with your own couriers. We do work closely with a range of trustworthy couriers and we are happy to recommend those couriers if requested.
