19th century brass finials relating to the Caverswall Men's Society, an organisation descended from a band of militia formed to fight Napoleon. Together with a copy of the local history book 'The Spirit of the Place' which includes photographs of 'Moorland Volunteers' with finials on staffs during the "Beating of the Bounds'. (6)
